I'm sad to report that Annie will not be able to finish her lure coursing career. She only needed 3 points to become a dual champion. In August 2008, Annie injured her leg chasing a squirrel around our live oak tree. She tripped over a root and came up lame. She ripped 3 of her metacarpals from her wrist joint and fractured the top of one of them. She now has screws and a plate in place to hold her foot together. She will enjoy retirement on the farm and hopefully she will be willing to grace us with another beautiful litter of pups sometime in the future.
